ht1250 wont read/write

Post by redneck_1086 »

I had already programmed this radio a day or two prior, but I need to change the MDC ID and now I cant read/write the radio.

When I attempt to write the radio I get the message, "Unable to get codeplug from the device in order to verify wether we can write to this device or not"

When I attempt to read the radio I get the message, "Couldnt open port. Check wether device/rib are powered on or not, and the device to rib, and the rib to pc connections are ok"

I can program the other radios (same model/firmware version ect) just not this one. I am using a ebay ribless cable, but dont see that being the problem since it works on the other radios. What could it be?

Radio is R05.13.04
Cps is R06.12.02

I once had the same exact problem as you. It was a brand new housing case, too!

It turned out that there was something about this housing case that made it absolutely required to program the radio with a real OEM programming cable. I could program any other radio with my cheap ribless eBay cable, but not this radio. I switched to the Motorola OEM cable and presto it worked.

I ended up changing the housing to that of an older radio so that we could continue to program it using the ribless USB eBay cable. I still would love to know WHY this was the case. Oh well.
