I have a few SM50 and Maxtrac 2 channel radios. I am wondering which radio is a better radio.
Also, Is there any huge differences between the two as for features? I know the 16 pin radios can do more than the 5 pin rigs. I would like to make an inform decision on which ones to sell off.
Thanks for the help
Mike

Re: Better radio, SM50 or Maxtrac
If I was handed at an SM50 or a Maxtrac, I'd keep the Maxtrac. The SM50 was also a consumer grade mobile (anyone remember the "Sport Base" GMRS mobile radio ?? ). While both are ok (although getting up there in age), I'd go with the Maxtrac.
Here is all you ever wanted to know about the SM series mobiles :

And the Maxtrac :

One big difference is the SM50 is 12.5 capable the Maxtrac is not.

My wording wasn't that good. SM50's were available in 12.5 or 25 Khz models (not selectable) Maxtracs never came in 12.5
