hi,
i just purchased 25 remote speaker mic on ebay, all new, but aftermarket. Received my order as described but, when i connect them to my radios, i can ear RX audio but can't PTT.. or if it keying, that automatic when i plug the jack in but there is no tx audio coming out and no way to dekey. Before asking for a refund and get in these troubles, i just can't believe all my 25 mics/radios are in trouble for the same reason. Any advise on accessory setting in the CPS ?
Thanks
Carl

Hello:
I too awhile back ran into exactly what your describing.
Mine was with the GP300 but still same speaker mike used on the 1225 radio.
Turned out that the ptt prong on the mike was too long and if you pulled up the remote mikes conector a tad then everything worked fine.
Not saying thats your issue but if you can pull the speaker mikes conector up some on the radio and it then works = Well then id say its the same issue.
If so then you can place two small but thin rubber o rings over the prongs to keep them from being pushed in too far to make them work in a pinch - not my idea of a fix by the way but would work if it in fact is going too far into the radios accessory jack and causing the issue.
I have also ran into the 1225 and gp300 after market antenaes thread in stud being too long and shorting out the rx on the radios .
I simply ground them down in length and all was fine then.
After market is not always good as i have found from my experience.
Id bet if you tried a motorola speaker mike that it would work indicating that the after market mikes are too long.
Good Luck
