MCS 2000 remote head frequency programming

Post by dustjunkiescott »

I have lurked here for a long time and just bought a new radio for my Jeep. I have 5-6 radios, kenwood tm271a's, ICOM V8000's, 2200's and a few handhelds. Those are all 'field programmable' radios. I needed one with a remote head for my new Wrangler because there is no room to mount a full size radio in it. So I bought a VHF MCS2000 that was used by a guy in a club in indiana with 3 frequencies programmed in.

I race in BAJA and only use the commercial frequencies along with two marine frequencies when talking to our boat.

I want to run simplex, maybe set up a scan for 2-3 channels and program 20-30 channels into it. I am not very computer savy and don't want an expensive brick. Is there somewhere in Southern California or a reputible place that I can ship this radio with the frequencies to program it?

Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't be much of a problem for any reputable Motorola service shop or one of the locals from this board. I would do it for free for you if you were near by since you're a racer.
