GP2000 goes into CLONE at turn-on

Post by K6ncx »

I have a (UHF, not that that should matter) GP2000 which has been working fine. But today when I turn it on it displays CLONE and then in a few seconds TIME OUT. There is nothing connected to it. I have done a factory reset on it, which changs nothing. Any ideas?

Just in case somehow it's bizarrely related, I'll not a couple of quirks this radio had before: PL tones could be set only by number, not by frequency, and DPL was not available.

Is it possible something got into the contacts in the speaker/mic connector, and it thinks a cloning cable has been inserted?
