Anyone been able to figure out how to program the PM1200 low band radio outside the band limits yet?
Have one on the bench and it doesn't seem to be that bad of a radio. Just would like to be able to slide it up into the 53 MHz range.
One of the points I don't like with the radio is that there is no display indication to tell you if it is in low power or high power. If you put it into low power and change channels, it will default back to high power. Not what I would call good engineering.
It does use the standard programming cable that you use on the CDM radios. So you don't have to go out and spend money on another programming cable.
The standard power out from the plant is 120 watts. Not sure why they chose that set point, but it will do it with no problem.

Re: PM1200 out of band programming
Product planner says you can't because the coils have to be retuned (lol)
Engineer says hex edit the CPS
Have done neither personally
Good luck

I did not manage to get it working. As the radio was not mine, I had to give it back to the customer. However, I would like to continue to pursue the steps to make this radio go outside the band limits.
