Motorola 2 Pin Speaker Connector

Post by Motradio »

Anyone have a Digikey/Mouser part number or product name for the white 2 pin speaker connector common to many of the motorola radios? MCS2000 for example. It looks like a Molex Mini-fit, but not quite

Thanks

You are looking for the Mate-N-Lok series connector.

Digikey part number A1410-ND should get you pointed in the right direction.

Sorry for not answering your question as-posed, however, I have the actual M part numbers and have been buying the pins and connectors, and, sockets and connector via MOL for years, if you are interested. They're always in stock and reasonably priced. I only offer because some folks assume they're not available from M because they're not specifically listed in an exploded parts diagram anywhere. I was happy to know they were an available item. Just offering. :)

3910184A45 - Cont Plug (male pin)
1510183A18 - Hsng Conn Plug 2 Cont (molex connector for male pin)

3910184A44 - Cont Recp (female socket)
1510183A17 - Hsng Conn Recp 2 Cont (molex connector for female socket)

Sometimes we just need to make a repair. Also, we have a self-servicing customer here that cuts their XTL speaker wires to 18" at install time (???) and puts on a new connector. They gave me the remainder that they usually just throw away (brand new...wire tie, plastic bag, and male connector still in place) for all the ones that they've done. Well, with a new set of sockets, a molex housing, a quality crimp, and a little heat shrink, they make great 6' extension cables for those rare times you just need a little more speaker run than the factory gives you. Hooray for parts!
