Okey-dokey... Carefully took apart the radio and noted that there is no pad between the PA module and the frame. I presume that the pad is some sort of compressible material that goes in between the PA and frame? I applied a very light coating of heat sink compound to the mating components and re-a...

Well, here's the story... I took the radio to the Fire Company that inhibited it and now its back up and running, no changing Fuses etc... Yep, and as I recall, one of the major conditions of the FCC originally granting FleetCall/Nextel the licenses was specifically that they could not be used for or converted to PCS. Let's take a step back and review - paging tones reset the station. Quantars live, eat, and breathe paging tones. I'm doubtful this is a firmware problem. Do all tones, any tones reset the station, or just one specific set? You just acquired the station from where? What was it's past duty? Did they...

I didn't have any issues that Tim described above, but something sure isn't right even though a Model 1.5 is no longer limited to 96 modes. :-) Did you have any issues with the DSP being upgraded to 16.50.20 instead of the correct version of 17.00.00? I have seen this issue is pretty much universal.

The 3000 isn't flashportable and does not support AES. You would need a KVL3000+ or KVL4000 with AES flashed in. The KVL3000 most certainly is flashportable.
