I'm trying to wire up the horn ring to the control head to enable the air horn to be used through the Spectra 9000. I can not find the pin out anywhere showing that.
Also, if using a DEK, and that pin is used for the DEK, can it be tapped in?

I also got bent over the desk by these guys... to a point.
I got a KVL that was "Taken out of working service" as well. However, got it, hooked up the battery, DOA. After trouble shooting, I found a bad battery / fuse section (broken).
Wrote them about it, got no reply. Then I had a brain storm ...

If you're thinking about going down the road that I think you are... save your money.
The Motorola encryption system works on a system of 16 digit/ key characters. It's an 'all or nothing' deal. If you have 15.5 of the 16 digits, you're not going to be able to decode the signal.

Silly question...
... when all else fails... why not cheat?
it takes four wires to go between the two radios and you're in business using the options plugs. The 16 pins on the back of the maxtracs, and the VIP connector on the head of the maratrac. You should also be able to do this with the 5 pin ...

one of the easier ways to tell is to look at the top of the radio at the toggle switch. If there are symbols like {] (a speaker looking symbol) and {/] (a speaker with a slash) that represents PL and CSQ receive modes. If the symbols are more like: O (a zero or an "O") and (/) (an "O" with a slash ...

Sorry Bro. That warble is strictly an attention getter. Now if they used a different set of tones than the medics, you could most likely do that. Generally... Big M radios will hold three tones on the same paging option screen. So as long as one of the three tones is the same, you can use just one ...

And if you want to play like that... loook at NYC EMS and NYPD. Yes the Saber is the primary, but the MX's are still being used there. We can play this game forever. Face it. The MX is a ...

No fuss, no muss. This supposedly works on ...
