Re: Dumb Question - XTS1500 & Speaker Mic

Thanks for the info. guys. I pretty much knew I had a dud the second it didn't key up.
I was just hoping on the outside chance that there was some oddball software config that needed to be set.

The radio is pretty new (~4 months) and I put the cover over the contacts when I first got it and they ...

Dumb Question - XTS1500 & Speaker Mic

O.K.
I have an XTS1500 issued to me by work,

After getting the thing connected I have speaker but no mic. Pressing the mic ...

Since the Minitor II charger is UL approved as an assembly, you really should not use anything else but the Minitor II transformer from Motorola. I hate to see the fire fighters home to go up in smoke because of a faulty pager charger.

Minitor II charger transformer part number and price from ...

All help appreciated.

Thanks.

It may be a damaged display board or shorted wiring in the front panel makes the radio logic think it is in scan mode. Inspect the front panel and connector for bent pins, shorted wires etc..

We have a winner!

Apparently when I - ahem - crammed all the wiring back into the head, it bent one of ...

k2hz - chanel will change & radio chirps like "normal" then display continues to flash.

As I am still in the process of mounting - I didn't try grounding the mic. Will try this tonight. May also pull the display board and make sure that I didn't pull a wire loose somewhere when adding my backplate ...

Thanks for the replies thus far. I was in a pretty foul mood last night when I posted so I wasn't thinking clearly and thus probably didn't post enough info.

The control head only has the monitor button no scan or (select I think is the 3rd) and AFIK it was not programmed to scan.

I have double ...

Question on remote install of Maxtrac 300

O.K. - Forgive me if this was covered somewhere - I searched till I was blue in the face and couldn't find it.

Anyone have any good (i.e. cheap) alternatives to the Quick Mount kit for remote install of a Maxtrac 300 ?

I have a VHF Low Band 6ch w/ 5 Pin Acc. connector model.
