It's possible it is saveable, sometimes they can be brought back by loading a cp back into it, or....forcing one into it if need be.

Bad reference oscillator. Replace the 16.8MHz oscillator in the radio and you'll probably be golden.

It has to do with the shielding on the display itself. I fiddled with a 800Mhz display on a vhf radio, with RF getting into it, it was very quirky. IIRC the C04 is a universal display as of now for all bands.

No key is loaded, load the key and you should be good to go.
Or.............
You may try highlighting the system id, then deleting it with the delete button, then restyle the system key in,
See if the problem goes away. I think the last release of cps for the xts/xtl has some bugs.

Actual TX on programmed freq of 166.125 shows 166.133 on a cheap optoelectronics freq counter. Another freq of 166.000 shows 166.006
Various freqs across the full range (150-167) are mostly correct, some are not.

I changed a box of q splits to r splits several years ago and hex edited the crap out of them, they worked great, not what I would call super hard to do. I only did it because I was challenged that it couldn't be done. It took longer to align them than the mods did, just and FYI.
