What radios do you own?: Too many

Need some help

Post by Gman »

I just obtained a XTS3000R UHF for our new trunked radio system.I am having a problem of all things getting scan to program.I made it the the part where the little square box is blinking, but the select and delete button don't make any changes on the display.I just get that low tone, just like when you tx on a channel that is tx blocked..My flash is 591008-4f1e00-9

Thank you for the help..

Your on a UHF trunking system? Neat. Details please..

As for the scan, you must make sure that in RSS/CPS that the mode your on has scan enabled. Futhermore, the best thing I find is to preprogram all your scan lists in RSS/CPS and ensure that all the scan options in RSS/CPS have OP SEL features enabled. That way the radio will let you change the scan information on the fly. Usually its setup so that you can't change them via the front keypad.

I found the problem with the scan programming. It was just the fact that the radio has so many zones and talkgroups programed into it I had to find where the other scanned channels were.Once I erased those,I was free to program the ones I wanted in it.Easy fix.I am new to the ASTRO equipment so there will be some learning time.As far as the trunking system goes,I don't know much about it yet,but I will know more by next week, espically when I get the info out of the radio.I have been told that the frequencies are in the 512 area, not sure if it is true.More to come.... :-?
