Me too, ever single MT2000 I seen have scan in there, there shouldnt be a one that dosent have scan, usually you have to program the scan button, or sometimes if you have a scan button and a scan in the menu list, it wont let you do scan cause it cant have to feature config like that on certain things.

HOpe that helps.

I believe all MT-2000's scan.
Did you check the following?

Each personality you want to scan has a scan list assigned to it.

Under radio wide configuration the F-5 scan list has channels assigned to it.

The switch and or menu item has the scan option assigned to it and it is on.
Hope this helps

Which radio do you have, top display or front display?

Me again, thanks for the replies.

It's a European bought MT2000 with top display and no keypad. The model number is H01KDD9AN4. I have set up scanlists for all 3 zones, have assigned the orange button to Scan and enabled scan on all individual physical channels. Still no luck.
The fact, that you can confirm, that it indeed CAN scan points me in the direction of wrong RSS. I use the M2100 RSS for programming, as the normal MTSX won't read the codeplug - the M2100 reads and writes the codeplug without problems.

The reason for using M2100 is that (as far as I know) the European models are "Select 5" models with CCIR and ZWEII signalling instead of MDC-1200. This is probably why my US MTSX won't read the codeplug.

I just don't know, if there's any MTSX RSS for European models available?

Could the M2100 software be the culprit? Everything else works perfectly when programming with M2100 - and I'm allowed to activate the scan functions in the RSS - but when I press the Scan key on the radio, it just gives me "the deep bip" (which I call the Idiot Alert).

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance - great group here....
