XTS Series radio Call Alert Question

Post by mfr301 »

Hello,

When using any XTS series or Astro Spectra radio, I have yet to figure out the following call alert issue. When I use to page someone from a pro series radio, I was able to just use the keypad to enter the number and letters ( A thru F). When I try to do this with an Astro radio, it will not let met enter the letters, just numbers only. Does anyone know why this is and how to correct this so I may direct enter units with Alpha-Numeric ID's without going through a list?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Are you call alerting someone on a trunked system, or on a conventional channel using MDC? If it's on a trunked system, the numbers are Decimal format only, no Hex letters.

Ever since I used the astro, there was never way to put Alpha in at all, only closes you will get to a letter is F pressing the * button

SO pretty much all of us over here preprogram the unit ID's that have Alpha with numbers.

Unless somebody knows a trick around the problem
