Late Entry Fast Unmute setting

Post by Jason »

Trying to decide whether to enable late entry fast unmute via CPS programming. Help file states that this can cause issues if the Astro personality is strapped to secure (which in this case it not), ill be utilzing "clear" ASTRO on a P25 repeater.. Are there any other issues with Late Entry Fast Unmute that anyone knows of?

It appears to only improve unmute by 360milliseconds at best..

Any thoughts?

There shouldn't be any other problems with it. You likely won't notice any difference with it either way. The fast unmute rule only comes into effect when;

-You turn on the radio while a conversation on that talkgroup is on progress.

-You turn the channel selector to a talkgroup in which a conversation is in progress.

-You come in from outside of a service area, while a conversation is in progress on that talkgroup.

99% of the time, you're not dealing with any of the above.
