Do you have the Bose stereo option? I don't think that was offered until 2003.

generally, pull the black plastic trays out to gain interior access. Remove the storage box lid hinge screws. There should be screws under the hinge and under the rubber matt at the bottom. There should be to push in type clips up front and 4 screws attaches to a baseplate legs going to each seat bolt.

You will need to unbolt both seats as well..

In the "storage" compartment, there are 5 bolts. Remove them. Then, pull the cupholder out and remove the two screws that attach the console to the dash. These are the steps that I remember. There may be more but, I don't remember. It's been a few months. There may be two screws where the console meets the floor under the dash as well but, I don't think so.

You *may* have to remove the dash plate where the factory cassette option is installed as well to get to two screws there. Then again, I could be confusing multiple vehicles here.

It was the two screws under the cup holders that eluded me for a while.

Seats in tahoe

Post by rt721 »

Thanks for the info, I have the LS version the console is built into the center seat and flips up, so that someone can sit there. I am hoping to remove the seat and the console in order to install a console for my gear. Right now everything in crammed between the cup holder and the dash.

Looks like it takes a special socket to removes the seat legs from the floor. :(

A Standard socket should work. I forget the size, I want to say 7/16ths but it's probably something a little larger.
