The feature matrix I saw stated "VHF Only" for front panel programming.

I have heard that it is a flash option.
Something like option Q52.

Good luck,

Well, if it's a FlashCode option, I really don't see why it would be limited to VHF.

Even if it's not a FlashCode option, rather firmware, I don't see why it'd be limited to VHF either.

I've heard it will be out early next year for UHF. Also FPP is not compatible with trunking.

FPP

Post by batdude »

after discussing this with someone at the fed sales office -

FPP was designed for release to the wildland fire fighters....

seems as tho BK has the lock up on their requirement for a front panel programmable fire radio (that does Apco 25 digi)

Field Programable

Post by MtComm »

Batdude has it correct. I am B/K dealer and the Forest Service demands
field programablility. I think some other models of Moto radio had that
feature but seldom found. B/K VHF and UHF are all field programable.

What radios do you own?: W7 FPP lowband MaraTrac w/AES

Yeouch....that BLM page was a busy read. Looks 90%+ of the radios submitted had flaws that didn't meet some part of the contract.
Do not make Sig angry...he'll just keep ringing the bell.
