Help with new MT2000

Post by bmoulton »

I am trying to read a new (to me) MT2000,A7 with rss version 6.
I keep getting an error that says "Warning:Communication with radio
failed >Protocol entry error. It is a real Motorola RIB that I use on other radios. Any help ?

In order of probability:

PC set for wrong comm port.
Low battery on radio.
RIB to radio cable or connector bad or not seated properly.
PC to RIB cable bad.

Does Version 6 for the MT2000 have to be run from pure DOS ?

Yes. Also test the communications from the Setup Menu. If the communications test passes, then your cable & RIB are probably ok.

Thanks for the help. I was not running it in pure DOS.
