The latest IMBE codec firmware for the XTS3000 is included with load R07.13.00/DSPN08.02.08, and up. It sounds noticably better than the prior loads. This load has been out since September, 2003.

For optimum results (re: new IMBE vocoder firmware), you will also need the Sept, 2003 Host/DSP loads on the ASTRO Spectra and DIU3000 so you can enjoy the improved IMBE end-to-end. I will check our ASTRO Spectra and DIU load numbers and post 'em.

DVSI has the particulars on exactly what they have done in terms of uplifting/improving their IMBE vocoder (which you can realize with the latest loads). Their view (from a qualitative standpoint) is that Yes, it sounds noticably better than the older IMBE, but No, it won't knock you off your feet. It's an incremental improvement in IMBE voice quality.

rOf, how about a third column for EMC firmware versions?
