If I tighten up the spanner nuts on as2, it won't turn on.
I can only tighten them finger tight. This is tight enough, but I'd rather have them tighter.
Thoughts?
Seth
problem as2 won't turn on if spanners are real tight

Saber inside connections...
Seth,
I've noticed that the bottom inside contacts on my standard Sabers tend to get really dirty after a while. I guess the crud sneaks in via the battery plate. You make a good point in keeping them clean.
Regards,

There are several bulletins reminding folks not to overtighten the spanner nuts on Saber/Systems Saber radios. The manual has a torque spec on this and it is quite low (from memory, something under 10 in-lb). If one is going to do much work on these radios, investing in a torque-limiting screw-driver is a good idea.
