Minitor IV SV?

Post by hooknladder »

The old Minitor II stored voice pagers let the receive audio override the stored voice audio. Say you were playing back a message and traffic came over the frequency for the pager you would hear the traffic and not your stored voice. Is there an option in the Minitor IV software that will let the receive audio override the stored voice message? Right now if I'm playing a message and traffic comes over the frequency in the pager you miss the traffic.

So a quick question also is can a M3 or M4 do selcall scan or is it only monitor for scan mode.

We get paged on 152.0075 for ambulance and 154.145 for fire and I hate to carry two pagers around but we were told it can only do mon scan and not selcall scan. This is no good as there is way to much hospital and other agency paging traffic on 152.0075.

The only 100 per cent public safety reliable way to get selective calls is to scan two receivers. The scanning process can disrupt the selective call timing. Sometimes a Minitor III or IV can be programed to scan two channels with the priority channel programed for selective call and the other channel programed for monitor and have some success but I wouldn't trust it in a public safety situation. Others may disagree.....but when it comes to public safety...I go for the more reliable method. Carry two pagers!

As discussed before. The second link has some detail from the user guide on priority and non-priority scanning.
