ASIII Password....how to set?

Post by 007 »

In the Radio Wide Display Options screen (F4/F3/F6), there is an option for Radio Lock....this is all well and fine, but when enabled shouldn't it give me another line to set the password?

I see where I can enable a menu item called "Pswd" and under that help it says I need to have encryption (I do) and something about auto login....but how do I actually set the password?

I'm not enabling it until I know I how to set a password...

The line to set the password only shows up if you do NOT have hardware encryption. If you do, the radio lock / password is managed by the hardware encryption board.

There is a default password (12345678 from memory?) which you can then change with the PSWD menu item.

If the default password doesn't work, you put in 00000000 (I think... that or do the zeroise shortcut - it's a LONG time since I've tried this) which zeroises the keys and resets the radio password to default.

But basically, it's safe to enable radio lock, as if all else fails you can disable it again in the CPS and you'll get your radio back
