Astro Spectra remote kit

Post by tvsjr »

I haven't even pulled the control head off, so please pardon me if this is a stupid question...

I've got a new Astro Spectra I want to install in my vehicle. I currently have analog Spectras in place, all with the old-style remote kits. Will these remote kits work with the Astro?

Ideally, the easiest/nicest thing would be to unplug the analog head, plug in the Astro head, unplug the analog RF deck, swap the remote faceplate onto the Astro, and plug it in...

Yes, the cables from analog spectra are compatible w/ Astro Spectras.

If it is a REALLY old analog spectra cable kit, it might not be compatible. The connector on the really old analog spectras was two rows of 100 mil spaced pins. The connector on the newer heads is a moulded rubber plug with a metal clip, similar to a X9000 control head connector.
