MT1000 RSS Help Options settings

Post by firegood »

Hello,

I have purchased a mt1000 99ch and was wondering if anyone knew what options can be turned on (or off) in the rss. I would like to have this info ready when i send it out to be programed.

Thanks

MT1000 options

Post by Navy AT »

What specificly are you looking to turn on or off? The RSS allows a wide range of radio and channel specific options.

Firegood,

Here are some radio-wide options for the MT1000:

ALL ALERT TONES toggles all alert tones on/off

POWER UP ALERT TONE toggles only the power up tone on/off

QUICK CALL AUTO RESET is used to automatically place the receiver back into quick-call mode seven seconds after the carrier drops from recieving a quick call page.

CHANNEL BUSY LIGHT You must know what this is, don't you? It's green by the way and it plashes fairly rapidly

TRANSMIT LIGHT it glows red when the PTT is pressed

BATTERY SAVER This option can power down the receiver and synthesizer for periods of 60ms when no carrier is present to save the battery.

CLONING this must be enabled to clone one radio from another using a special cable

MVA DISPLAY FLIP this will flip the top LCD upside down when the radio is placed in a 'Convertacom' aka MVA

TIME OUT TIMER this will only let you transmit for 'x' seconds.

Some scanning options:

USER SCAN PROGRAM This lets the radio user program and change the channels to be scanned by using the side buttons (explination on Batlabs model specific page for the MT1000)

TALK BACK SCAN When the PTT is depressed during scan hang time, or when the scanning has stopped on a channel that is not neccesarily the same as the channel selected by the rotary channel swith the radio will transmit on the channel it is recieving a carrier.

There are many different options for scanning with priority, without priority, with priority and with PL, without priority and with PL. OK, well, there are four as you can see and they all work pretty well. I like PL scan because it implements reverse burst which cancels the squelch tail on the end of transmissions from most two-way transmitters and repeaters. Hve fun with your MT1000.

Thank You For replying,

That list gets my one step further, I was wondering if there was another option to do with the MVA. For example the radio locks up when it is removed. Any ideas??

I have read here that the 99 channel display models are particularly ESD sensitive on the universal connector at the top of the radio.

I also recall that someone else may have had this problem just as you are having only when removing it from the MVA. Try to exhaust the search feature here on the board and hopefully this will help.
