Post by Radiogeek97 »

My freind has an xts3000 MIII and i want to test the functioning of the buttons/switches. I rember a while back a member had a post that listed how to test the keypad/switches& buttons by putting the radio into test mode. I did a search and cant seem to find the post if one of you guys could point me to it or help me out i would appreciate it.

Shaun

thanks for the help, just as i suspected i have a bad concentric switch :(

If i am not mistaken, isnt it a non servicable part in that you have to buy the whole Mod 3 housing which includes the vol knob chan selector/concentric sw?

hI SHAUN
How did you guess I called "parts id" The guy my buddy got the radio would be willing to send out a mod 1 housing asap if that switch is the same he said we could scavenge it out.
He said it would be a little bit to get a mod3 housing assy, the radio works fine otherwise but my buddy (and the seller) wants it right. I am good at programing but dont know too much about the nuts and bolts of these things. I would tend to think it would be easier to wait for the complete housing, do you think the switch swap/replacement would be tough for an experienced tech?
