Does and don't of saber repairs and mainmantce

Post by Motoman »

DO clean the inside and seals once in a well.
DO tighten loose bolts and nuts.
DO keep it in good working order.
DO NOT take the modules out just cause u can.
DO NOT try to repair it if it don't need repairing.
DO NOT pull all the modules out to see what the board looks like without them as u may forget where they go back.

All this is from personal experiance i got a saber fro 2wayguru and i was cleaning the seals and o rings and decided to take the modules out i don't know y i just did. Then on of the module legs becamse bent and won't go in luckly i have all the tools o the trade and i was able to fix it.

Do not overtighten the spanner nuts on the bottom of the baseplate. I forget the spec, but it is something quite small (under 10 in-oz).

My first mistake when I started working on the Sabers was re-installing the Reference Module upside down. Could not figure out for a while what I did wrong.

I tackled one of the Saber TMSS switch changeouts last night and that will try your patience!

All just part of the ongoing Saber learning curve! :)
