MT1000 Error 006

Post by apco25 »

MDC-ID front - reads fine, can't program it and gives error #006

This is the same software we've always used at the county and now it won't talk to the front covers and it used to in the past???? Normal read/write works fine.

What gives?

Might be talking out of my butt here since if you've done it before and nothing has changed it should work... but have you put the RSS on a different computer? I've heard that to program the ID front's you need to use a slower computer (Just like the x9000's when you put a MDC board in). Just an idea..

Could the cover have been swapped from another radio perhaps? I experienced the same problem you are having after I installed my MDC cover on an MT1000 that did not support it. Here are the details:

If you would like I can look up the model of the cover you have to see if it should work properly on the MT1000 model you are using it with.

Ok in better detail

the platform has programmed the MT1000's before with and without ID fronts.

The particular front is NTN5457C and another radio that has the MDC/ManDown/DTMF full blown front (its not here for a part #) there is also a MDC non man down front floating around too.

I do not believe its a version issue as all these radios should be BN or later models and the covers are working right now.

I just can't change anything.

I find it really bizzare they read but fail the write.
