Hey all;
I'm helping a friend with an Astro Spectra, I've got a question re. zones.
I want all available display characters to display the channel name, so there isn't any room to display a zone name.
When you change zones, it doesn't show you the name of the zone like the older Spectra and MCX1000 does.
My question...is there some way you can get it to display the zone name when you change zones.
OR
If not, I was thinking just program the first channel in each zone as the zone name (ie...program a conventional channel that doesn't do anything, and label it with the zone name). That would work, except... When you change zones, will it always show Channel 1 in each zone first? If not...is there some way to force it to?
Thanks
-Mike

Nope. I was disappointed that the feature wasn't carried over. The spectra's I have do this, but not the astro spectra. Kinda a bummer.
You just need to be creative! What I did for my less used zones was to give the 1st channel the name of the system. Works for me.

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

Re: Astro Spectra question
There should be a way to force it, I was having this discussion with someone a while ago.ExKa|iBuR wrote: If not, I was thinking just program the first channel in each zone as the zone name (ie...program a conventional channel that doesn't do anything, and label it with the zone name). I don't remember the programming option - or if it was specific to the MCS and not to the Astro Spectra.
If you want, email me the codeplug alex ( a t ) batlabs.com and I'll take a look.
