MTS2000 Portable

Post by Denis Bacon »

I'm trying to program a brand new radio onto a new trunking system.
Everything is still in our shop to be installed. I'm not having any luck programming the portable. I have the Motorola system key, I've programmed the control channels, system ID and talkgroup ID but still get No Sys in the display of the radio. What odd is when the system is in failsoft the radio will go into failsoft. Any suggestion out their.

Could the system be operating in "closed" mode ?? Are you actually authorized to be on the system??

Which system are you trying to use the radio on? I notice you're from London - are you perhaps trying to use this radio on the BMR Fleetnet system?

MTS2000 Portable

Hi,
Thanks for he replies. I'm actually in South Australia (VK5). We have a system here called the SAGRN ( South Australian Government Radio Network). The Fire service, ambo's and other services use analog, and the police use digital encrypted. The system is in the 400 - 420 mhz band and it is seperated into 5 regions (i think). The system has multiple talkgroups for everything. I scan the system with my normal scanner but i hear everything!!!! I belong to the loacal fire brigade and i decided that i would like to monitor the other CFS talkgroups, and some ambulance talkgroups. I have just built a R.I.B and i have started playing around with the software. When i go into the trunking side of things it says i can't as i don't have a system key!
