Choosing a Radio P1225 vs New HT750???

Post by Adamwest »

What are the major differents in these radios? I know motorola is really pushing the new ht750s over the older Ht1000 and p1225. But from what I see on here alot of people do not like the new series of radios.

Just wondering

If the HT750 is in your budget, go for it. The P1225 is not the greatest, but it does TX/RX and for most, that all you need.

I enjoy the PRO Series. I operate 2 HT750 and 2 HT1550s.

Ribless cable all the way!!

I had a guy at work drop a HT 750 onto concrete from 50' up...still works fine.....Had great luck with them. The P1225 has issues with the battey and contacts, so I have found.

If those are the only choices, go HT750. However, for virtually any application, the HT1000 is a better radio.

Or my favorite oldie The GP300

Im not fond of the P1225 because of the rubber mike contact seems to be unreliable every two years or so and it has a history of loosing the wattage output due to a component before the pa circuit as well.

I will admit the GP300 does go low on rx and tx audio due to dirty ground contacts but these you can simply clean and the radios good to go for another two years.

The best radio fo them all is still the HT1000 which is still in production for $800.00 or more.. It will still out perform the HT750 , 1550 and anything new. They are awsome i own a Brand New one it is awsome i use it all the time it RX and Tx's better then the HT750 and 1250 etc... But on the other hand the HT750 will just do fine for regular work but if you are going to beat the crap out fo it then the HT1000 will work better...
