The only limitation I'm aware of on channel expansion is the mid-1994 change to 2-channel units that keeps them from being expanded (channel selector repeats 1-2 all the way around).

The others (4-channel on up) should be expandable to 16. The other features should be configurable through the RSS.

I just went through this with three 4-channel P110s that I converted into 16-channel GP300s. Worked like a charm. (The GP300 case/battery is much more comfortable to handle as well.)

The only problem I've had was with a later (1997) model 8-channel P110 that is currently giving me fits, since my RSS doesn't support it. I've tried to hack a different code plug into it, and now it's catatonic (beep-boop on powerup.)

Anyone know if there are differences in the
RF amplifier between the hi and low power
P110's? (Saw someone at a hamfair using toolkit to supposedly change a 2 watt/2 channel P110 into a 16 ch/5 watt GP300).
