Anyone out there ever thought of conversion of an HT1000 to JT1000? With the exception of the front cover, the two radios are identical. Has anyone tried this succesfully? Having tried moving a few bits around in the model # I get a "codeplug ver. mismatch" msg. upon cloning. Any help is appreciated.

The two radios use different controllers. Simple hex editing will not work. The RF boards are the same.

Thanks Chris, out of curiosity, is it a physically different controller or just different firmware? A cursory glance at the manual shows same part # for HTJT. I could well be wrong.

Hi,

The controllers are the same board, but have different processors. Since they aren't socketed, I don't think I want to try and change one.. but I guess you could.
