What radios do you own?: Too many!

Post by RESCUE161 »

I just got a Maxtrac with a 16 pin plug that the internal speaker doesn't work on. Do I need to change something inside the radio or is the option to turn on the internal speaker in the RSS? I don't have an external speaker for this radio with me, and just want to use the internal speaker. Thank you very much,
Scott

If I remember correctly,I think pins 15 and 16 must be connected together.

In the RSS, I saw that it was programmed for 'handset' ops, but I really had no idea what that was...
Still learning here...lol

Unless your doing some special stuff with the 16 pin connector, your best of choosing "CHANNEL 1 REVERT" this seems to cause the lease amount of harm, and doesn't cause that good power on sound, followed by a very short error code (from not have the right accessories installed.)

To install a normal speaker, I believe you connect to pins 1 and 16. I forget which is groud.

Good Luck.

oh, I see. Well, it seems that this radio has the dreaded 'Beep - Boop' when turned on. I put a jumper on the pins indicated and the speaker works now, but I get the two beeps instead of one. Is there anything that can be done? I have another radio, but it is only a two button front, type 1 radio. Thank you...

I believe pins 7 and 9 need to be jumped together to give a null indication for external alarm input(I think thats what its called) and pins 15 and 16 for internal speaker. Just for future ref also pin 10 is ignition sense and 4 is external alert output ie horn alert.
