Does anyone in the boards have info on this particular radio?
We have a few here in the lab that we're interfacing to DTE's and was curious as regards this radio. Rumor had it that it was capable of dual band ops as well as analogue and digital ops...

The XTL5000 is the replacement for the Astro Spectra. The 800 MHz will actually do "dual band" 700/800 MHz. There are no plans for a dual band model such as ham rigs that do VHF/UHF.
As far as analog and digital operation. It will do analog and Astro provided it was purchased with the proper features. Read the Astro primer for more information on digital.
