Hello all,
Been working on this for a while now and can't seem to figure it out. I have a Systems Saber 3 UHF 460-490 that I programmed a few times and all of the sudden will not transmit after I programmed it last. When the PTT is depressed there is a low tone beep that is emitted much like that of a recieve only frequency. Tried everything I know for sureI did not touch any of the settings but simply added one additional channel in. Any help is greatly appreciated and THANKS!!! in advance!

Hi:
If your radio was working OK piror to programminmg, chances are pretty high
you may only have a code plug problem.
Also, make sure the " Range " of the Modules
fits the personality of the radio. If you try
to "reprogram " the range with the personality Window, without paying any respects to the Module limitations, that will
make your radio inop....Sorta like taking a
403-430 Mhz Saber and reprogramming it to the
440-470 Range.....Just will not work until
you make the Module Swap.
Also, beware many times techs will " change"
modules around and take a 5 Watt Module out
of a good radio and replace it with a 2 watt
Module then sell it off on the newsgroups or
a As-Is Ebay item
If your radio has all the Factory Model / Serial tags, you should be OK....If you get
stumped, email me direct and I can give you
some tech advice

The radio was perfectly okay prior to this one programming event. I've programmed the radio a number of times before and had no problems. I've even tried to dump the original codepluge in and still no good. I am really stumped. The radio never left my hands so anything being switched out of it is impossible. Can't seem to crack this one.

Hi:
At this stage, you may wish to have your
radio examined by a Motorola Tech with a
Servic Monitor and Test Jig.
The Test Jig can at least see if the
Proper ( or any ) Current Draw is being
consumned. And a Service Monitor or scanner
can tell you if the low level exciter is working.
Although rare, I still have seen a few cases
where a Clone Rib Box, used with a Pentium
Computer corrupted a portion of the code plug
( Primary ) and even though you have a secondary code plug as a back up, it has nothing to due with the Primary one.
Also, its posssible if the radio has been
serviced improperly, you could have a soft
failure, and it was just coincidence that it
stopped working at the time it was programmed.
If yopu are not able to find anyone in your
area, I would be more than willing to take
a look at it for you. Please email mm direct
