How do I read a Keynote pager....

Post by BNBEquipement »

Our local police dept here has two keynote pagers that are shot, we are updating them to HT750's and need to get the QCII tones for them. We are getting these radios from another retailer, and the original seller will not give me the tones for the new radios, since he is not selling them.

I dont believe that the tones are done though reeds, and I dont have a way to reed this pager, so can someone help here.

Thanks

The key note pager is read by a program stand that is conected to the computer without a RIB.

This program stand looks a lot like a regular charger but has the extra circuitry and contact bd for this purpose.

Im thinking that the only way other than finding a radio that they might have this same info would be to send a pager out to be read by
somebody with the needed equipment.

The keynote is a crystaled pager but the tones are programable as were paging options.

If youd pay the ship to me and back i would read and mail you back a copy of the program in the keynote and of course the keynote also.

Interested PM me with qestions ect.

Something you might try which has worked for me in the past:

Tune a radio or scanner to the pager frequency. Page yourself and record the page received by the scanner using your computers sound card. Be sure to record it in somewhat high quality audio. I cant remember if I used GoldWave or CoolEdit, I think it was CoolEdit though. They are both freeware/shareware/tryware/whatever.... It has a feature to analyze the frequency at a particular point in a sound file. It has been accurate enough for me in the past.

Oh, one problem I had was my laptop is always off a bit when I am dealing with tone generation and decoding - about 2% or so. Cant figure out why. My desktop however is always dead on. I have a 2 y/o Sony Vaio laptop. Anybody have any ideas why its off a bit with the tones?

If you want more info on the program I used, let me know and I will try to dig it up...
