I just picked up two Spectra's (D37KGA5JB5EK) from a reputable dealer at the local amateur radio swapmeet. I brought them home and both of them will not power up. Here is what I tried:
No power cable, but I apply 12V positive to the exposed end of the power connector (closest the antenna connector) and negative to the other side.
Plugged in the mike.
Hit the power.....NOTHING
Tried w/o mike....NOTHING
The 15 pin connector on the back is empty. Is there supposed to be a jumper in here or something.

Thanks
Adam

You need to hook up iginition sense up to the spectra. See the batlabs model specific information about what wires to hook up where. You'll also need to hook up a speaker to the radio as well.

If your looking to take the Spectra's into the ham band good luck. You can look around here for info, but Spectra's aren't the best choices since the VCO's do not lock low enough. The GTX series, and a couple MCS's we've played with drop a bit into the band, but I haven't experimented myself.
