Astro Saber 3 Low audio problem

Post by 2wayguru »

I just recieved my vocon that I purchased on ebay 2day and I have programmed it up, here is the problem, when the radio is turned on and the power up alert tone beeps it is loud like it should be while being turned up all the way, the regular tones and rx audio is really low. I can control the audio level from nothing to real low by turning the volume knob. here are the particulars on it......

1 meg vocon
DSPN08.02.06
VER 7.12.00.00

Anyone have any ideas or did I get screwed by this ebay deal. Thanks...

So your saying when turning it Full Volume it dosent get loud at all?

I Sort of had that problem where it was from Nothing then loud, and I found out it was a RSS feature, try this and see if it works for ya

Ummm Go in To the Radio Wide Option so from start F4, F3,F2,
First Make Sure Minumin Voulme is At 75, I see that works the best usually
THENN>>> This is the one that messed me up, soo it might work for ya to correct it, See on the Right side of the Screen on Top it says Zero Level Audio Mute, Make sure its Disabled, and not enabled...

Hope it works for ya... if not, wait for the other guys responce....

I have tried the audio options and it still has real low audio. Here is what it does. When you turn it on after self check it beeps. That beep is at normal volume and if I have the vol turned all the way up it is loud. the recieve audio as well as the other beeps are real low. It is almost like a audio amp is bad, but if the audio amp was bad then the self test beep would be low as well. This does not make sense. I am thinking bad vocon. I just want to make sure the vocon is not bad before I start being real nasty to the guy on ebay that I got this thing from... Thanks...

i am thinking "TOTAL RADIO ALIGNMENT"

like as in the service section of the manual... since the new vocon does not have ANY of the traits programmed specific to your RF board...

do a total alignment, and go from there.
