i have a HT1000 w/ RSS, and LAB software

the radio wis set for VHF (150mhz range)

i was wondering if i used the LAB software to change it to a 800MHz range by changing the model#... would it work, or kill the radio???

thanks

You need to change the rf board to the proper band.. Won't work without doing that..

If your in need of 800 MHz you can pick up a
MTX8000 B5 on EBay in the area of $100-$125.
Your VHF HT-1000 is worth considerably more assuming it works right $300+ You can sell yours, buy what you need and pocket a couple
hundred.

Trying to use LAB that way WILL make a solid lead brick out of your radio. Best advice is to NOT use lab on anything, it takes a very skilled tech to work with lab.
The VHF radio is worth too much for that.

I just want to let everybody on the board know I made a swap with this guy for his HT 1000 and when it arrived it didn't transmit. He stated it did when he shipped it. I'm looking for a good B version code plug to put in it to see if that is the problem. I think he tried to hack it and screwed it up and then traded it as a good radio.
BE CAREFULL!!
