Astro Saber III VHF Strange but true.

Post by Dr Mahathir »

Yes this is strange but true, I'm after a Astro Saber III VHF codeplug. With conventional analog only. This is for and old VSELP ASIII. It currently has a IMBE codeplug (in it when I got it) 581008-0C1800-8 but this is causing a few issues and would dearly love a VSELP or Conventional only code plug. I know this is a strange request, as most are interested in upgrading there ASIII not down grading. I look forward to so help.

What are the issues?

I don't think down-grading the codeplug will be the answer. But, I could be wrong....

before you downgrade look through the codeplug and make sure that you do not have any incompatible options turned on. I would go through and turn off things like the modat software-encryption , otar ect ect. My as-3 came with a "whored out FC" and i would have stupid stuff like direct not shutting off/lockups ect. I went through the programming, and had the radio tuned and it works pisser now. Just a thought before you go nuts looking for a new CP.

TPG,
Astro Saber 3 VHF
HOST: AP_R03.10.07
DSP: R04.03.10
Model: H04KDH9PW7AN
Codeplug Size: 9036 bytes
1meg or 512k? In service mode it shows neither, but the board appears to be 512k comparing it with some other boards I have here.

Thanks for looking

Craig.

Hello just to check your host version R03.10.07. Is it the latest one? I am not sure about Astro Sabers but I am using Astro XTS3000 and my host version is R07.20.00. I thought Astro Sabers and XTS3000 shares the same host. correct me if I am wrong.

No, as he had stated, it's an older radio with older HOST/DSP versions. You are correct that XTS3000 & Astro Sabers share the same firmware version releases.
