MDC Decoder

Post by tbendick »

Has anyone seen any type of MDC decoder that can be used in the field.

I know the radio will display the MDC id's however in the application needed. There is a need to look back at the last few ID's.

For example someone hits an Emergency button now the radio alerts but someone else talks which makes the radio ID on the display disappear.

Has anyone seen a small decoder that could be hooked up to a XTS and used to monitor the Radio ID's like you would from a CAD system????

Midian Electronics makes a device called the DDU-500. It is a small desktop MDC1200 decoder with all of the features that you are looking, and then some. It has a 10 entry memory, 137 alias database, emergency ANI indication, and is fully programmable without the need of any external computer or programming device. It will interface with just about any radio, and it will also transmit MDC if you so desire. There is a also a serial output so you could potentially print a real-time hard copy record of all transmissions.

I can send you a copy of the manual for you to review and see if the unit will fit your needs. As far as pricing, the list price is $895, but I sell it well below that. Please PM, email, or call me for more information.

Thanks,
Jeff
