I don't think there is a way around it, exepect to change the chan knob back to chan selection. Another thought....is perhaps the channel you have selected in one zone, may not go that high in another. I have that problem with my Astro Spectra. If I have it in Ch19 in one zone, and go to another that only has 11 chan, it goes to ch1 in that zone by default. However...same thing...if I am in ch 3 in that same zone and switch to the other, I am in ch3 in the other zone.
