Keyloading problem

Post by oh2lak »

Hi.

I'm facing trouble when trying to load DES-XL keys to my XTS3000's. I'm using a DX keyloader, which load keys fine to a MTS2000 radio, but gives me a fail when trying to load a XTS radio, with the same cable as when keyloading the MTS. The display of the XTS turns to 'KEYLOADING' when attaching the KVL cable, but every time the keyloading fails.

The service display of the XTS shows that the DES-XL hybrid is in place and recognized by the radio. Service display shows KG1 DES-OFB and KG2 DES-XL

Any ideas?

What firmware versions are the XTS3000 & encryption module? I believe the KVL3000 was required beyond a certain version..though I'm not sure which.

check your programming of the xts

make sure "CKR key information" (or something like that) is *NOT* checked in the secure menus

FYI - CKR key management requires a KVL3000... the so called "ASTRO25" menus in the KVL

Thanks, it was the CKR management switch. It was checked, unchecking it cured the problem.
