What radios do you own?: XTS 5000 to Mocom

Wierd Saber III Problem...

Post by PropellorHead »

Been programming this same Saber III for almost a year now. I programmed it tonight with some new channels and such and for some reason my monitor/squelch button doesnt work anymore.

When I press it I don't hear any white noise, and the PL icon on the display doesn't disappear either. It is like it has been disabled or something. I haven't changed any of the H options or anything.

ANy clues?

What radios do you own?: What's a radio?

Best guess...... the "monitor switch" on the flex circuit isn't making contact. The circuitry for this & the ptt are the same one using different voltages so if the ptt works & monitor doesn't, most likely the "switch".

Hi,

Check to see if you have enabled the 'busy channel lockout' option, as this will disable the monitor function.

Saber monitor button...

Also check for "silent monitor" option in the RSS setup, which means you don't hear noise when you push the monitor button, just modulation IF the channel is in use.

Thanx guys. Might be the busy channel lock out. I think that is a new option I had enabled. With the silent monitor even though it makes no white noise, it still releases the PL tone from the channel. In my case it wont even CSQ the channel out of PL.

Thanx again,

FOUND IT! Woohoo...

If you select "Transmit Inhibit on Busy Channel" it disables the monitor button.
