DES encryption boards

Is it possible to use a stand alone DES encryption board in another type of radio? Or even a scanner? Just a question.

Transcrypt makes a SC20-DES board that can interface to generic radio's. http://www.transcryptsecure.com/DES.pdf I guess you could put it in a scanner.

Uh, you DO realize that it is illegal to decrypt transmissions that you are not authorized for, right?

Not that you're going to be reasonably expected to have much success in finding an unknown code anyway....!
