Keyloader question

I have 2 sabers with DES-XL modules. Can I use a DES only (T3020AX) keyloader and use the modules as DES modules?

I don't think so. You can use a 3011 to load DES modules but, not a 3020 to load DES-XL.

But if he disables XL in the RSS, will the KVL be able to load a DES only key?

I got in a DES saber that was supposed to be DES/XL and my DX loader loaded it up just fine as DES only.... the XL had to be disabled on all radios for it to work, but it worked fine with my DES/XL ones with the softwware check blank [disabled], so up to down works.
As for your way around I swear I thought l loaded them with an AX loader also... could be wrong.... don't have the ax to try again.

a des only keyloader will not load a des-xl module even if you disable the xl in the software ... but a des-xl keyloader will load both types of modules ..

ill trade you for your xl modules
