I know of a couple SVR-200's available locally, just wondering, give me your opinions, whats an approximate value on these units?
All i know is that they are UHF, i haven't got a look at them in person, so i don't know whats all included, etc. I will know more soon. What i do know is that they are UHF and were removed from public service.

One other question, anyone know about the programming cable for these?
The pyramid website has the manual and the programming software and mentions use of the FY-1 Programming Cable, it looks like it goes from the com port of the computer to the jack behind the front panel. Can this cable be made? The only site i found selling the programming kit wanted $82 for the software and cable, which is odd since the software is free on the Pyramid web site.

Ok, never mind on the cable, i see that Batlabs shows one for use with the Motorola RIB after all.
So that solves the issue of programming them. How about value?

We usually get them for ~$1,000 new. We've traded them in after 5+ years of use for $400.00. What makes them cost so much is beyond me. Someone's getting rich, it isn't me.

I have one that I got off of Ebay a few years ago and have had it on a couple radios (currently on a VHF Orion)and it works perfectly.I think I got it for $150.00 and not more than a week before I got it I priced them from Pyramid at $1200.00 so as far as performance I have had great luck but I too wonder why they are so expensive?
Well i will see what i can get them for, i actually have a few ideas for their use.
Does anyone know if its possible to put them down into the ham band?
