Miinitor IV Alerting sounds

Post by cfdeng3 »

Hi
We just bought 2 minitor IV's at my FD. They are single channel SV. We had 4 Quick call / two tones put in.

I asked for two tones to set off a fast beep and two tones to set off the long tone. I was told by the radio shop that this was not possible.

Last year when I had access to a Minitor IV programming cable I did the same thing to a friends minitor. The only difference was he had a 2 channel Minitor IV. I unfortunately can't recall how I did this. Can anyone offer specific directions on how to accomplish this??

I also have this set up in my personal Minitor 3 to give me two different audible warnings depending on what tones are sent.

Thanks!

The minitor 3 and minitor 4 are essentially the same programming. If the 3 is set up the way you want it, you should be able to replicate it in the 4.

My guess is that the radio shop either doesn't know the programming or doesn't want to be bothered.

The only way to set up the pager to alert with 1 steady tone alert and one interupted tone alert is to use the A-B, A-C coding option. Otherwise, any of the long (8 second) tones will be steady.

example:

A 977.2 B 716.1
A 977.2 C 881.0

You must use the coding option that only allows A-B, A-C. If you use the coding option that allows you 6 different sets, they will all be interupted except for the long tones.
Hope this clears it up.....and I hope you use a AB, AC format.
