VISAR displays 88

What radios do you own?: tk-3140, ft-10, BCD396

VISAR displays 88

I just received a used visar that when powered up the display shows 88, any ideas of what this means?

does it read or write?


chances are the controller is nuked or you have a bad codeplug in the radio.

i have also seen this with radios "labbed" over incorrectly - namely when attempting to convert a non-keypad model to a keypad model....

Check the battery too. I have seen alpha display radios that lock up when the battery goes south.
