XTS3000 Cloning issue

Post by wecr »

I have an 800mhz XTS300 model III, the radio was analog only. I used v3.04 to do a clone with a apco25 digi radio of the same variety. All seemed to clone ok, with one problem. The upgraded radio will not receive digital. If you key the digital radio up, the good radio will see an ID, and you get a squelch but no voice. It seems to be close to the issues here:
http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=3869
Analog mode works fine.

The "upgraded" now has the flashcode:
500001-00000-1
Q806/G806 IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation
H14/G114 Digital ID Display
H38/G51 Smartzone Operation

I have also been through the programming a few times, and so has a friend of mine, all is good there.

Any ideas on gettin the digital working?

p.s. just for fun I cloned an astro saber III into the xts3000 and it worked the exact same way. Analog was fine digital would not receive, but could transmit squelch but no voice.

Oh ya, I also tried to clone another XTS3000 and got the same results to rule out hardware.
Help!

Thanks, Chris

Well, as far as I knew, v3.04 was out before the XTS series was released. As far as I have heard, doing any tricks with an XTS radio with 3.04 would kill or seriously injure the radio. Also remember, IMBE wasn't out at the time either, so now you most likely have a VSELP radio. This is most likey why you are having problems.

On the flip side, you are the first person that I am aware of that cloned a XTS without killing the radio...

there is no way that 3.04 will kill a xts, it is most likely a firmware/dsp issue as opposed to a hardware issue. The radio didn't work astro before, nothing lost, nothing gained. but it can be fixed. SG

Really neat that I can clone a Astro Saber into an XTS3000 and it will work the same....

Your problem is not your flash code, but rather your firmware. DSP Software Version: A07.03.2 is analog only. Cloning will not help you, and the version of rss used has nothing to do with it, only a flash rib can change A07.03.2 to N07.xx.xx. Good luck
